Biblical theology is just that---theology that is based upon the Bible, rather than being based on the musings of some scholar or scholars. Therefore, when studying theology that is based upon the Bible, one must be careful to understand the context of the verses--otherwise, they may become a pretext. A lot of this is seen, unfortunately, in "systematic theology" texts and lectures, where the meaning of the Bible is crammed into a "system," so that it will all make sense. We forget that God is infinite, not bound by space or time--He lectures Job about this in Job 38:4-7 " 4 “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. 5 Who determined its measurements—surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? 6 On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, 7 when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?"
